Bach’s cantata ’Die Elenden sollen essen’, performed by the Netherlands Bach Society for All of Bach, broke the ice in his new post. At last, his appointment as cantor in Leipzig had been finalised and he had moved with his family from Köthen to Leipzig on 22 May 1723.
