Palestinians protest at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque after Jenin massacre

After the bloodiest day in Jenin in 20 years, in which Israeli forces massacred nine Palestinians at a refugee camp, mourners – led by fierce elderly Palestinian woman Nafisa Khweis – gathered at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque to denounce the Israeli aggression. Earlier this morning, funerals were held for the nine Palestinians (including an elderly woman) Israeli forces had killed yesterday during a bloody raid on the refugee camp in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin. The Palestinian officials said at least 16 other people had also been injured, and that Israeli forces used tear gas inside a hospital children’s ward. Also yesterday, Israeli forces killed Yousef Muheisen, 22, from al-Ram near occupied East Jerusalem. His death meant 10 Palestinians were killed in one single day. Thursday’s fatalities also brings the number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank so far this year to 29.
