In this episode of Your Edge Paul Beisler shows us how he forges a classic blacksmithing rounding hammer from A33 steel. We cover everything from how to punch and drift the eye of the hammer to how to dress the faces of the hammer after forging and how to heat treat using a rosebud torch. He uses a forging press to punch and drift the eye and then moves to a Big Blu Power hammer to do the rest of the forming with a little hand forging at the end to true it all up. Paul also teaches us how A33 steel is heat treated without having to temper.
