Roland HandSonic HPD-20 Percussion Controller Review by Sweetwater
Hi everybody, check out the Roland HandSonic HPD-20! This digital drum is a very cool instrument - it’s fun and easy to play, sounds great, and has a ton of different drum, percussion and instrument sounds. In fact, it comes with 850 sounds, based on Roland’s SuperNATURAL sound engine so you know they sound awesome.
The playing surface is divided into 13 pressure-sensitive zones, and the way the sounds are mapped to the HPD-20 mimics the response of the real drum. For example, when you load up a conga sound, you can hear the transition from the middle of the head to the rim as your hands move across the surface.
I think the HandSonic HPD-20 is just as suitable for electronic music producers as it is for drummers and percussionists. From the great sounds to the responsive playing surface, this is a very cool instrument. Thanks for watching!
