Israel uses ’Iron Sting’ weapon for first time to destroy Hamas rocket launchers

Israel deployed its new ‘Iron Sting’ mortar for the first time against Hamas. Video released by the IDF showed special forces using the precision mortar. Troops are shown running to deploy it on the Gaza border. And then unleashing it on a Hamas rocket launch site inside the enclave. The mortar uses GPS and lasers to guide itself to its target. That is designed to increase accuracy and reduce civilian casualties.
