Why should we listen to what a teenage schoolgirl called Greta Thunberg says about climate-science?

A couple of years ago photographs of a young girl began to appear in newspapers and on television. She was a typical school pupil, wildly enthusiastic about all manner of things about which she knew little. For some reason, important people took notice of her and she became a saintly and iconic figure for the modern world.
