Qatar’s foreign workers deported after protesting unpaid wages • The Observers - France 24

During a demonstration on August 14, dozens of foreign workers demonstrated in Doha to demand several months of unpaid wages. As a result, more than sixty workers were arrested and some of them were deported from Qatar.  But this is not an isolated case: in Qatar, late payment of wages in the construction sector is very common, especially as the country is set to host the 2022 World Cup.
