Made in the 1960s (probably 1965), IN THE HEARTS OF MEN was created by the Masons in support of the ideals of democracy. Hosted by Lowell Thomas, the famed journalist and a Master Mason, this movie celebrates famous Americans who were Masons. This Scottish Rite film was part of an effort in the 1960s to promote the work of the Supreme Council, and produced and directed by journalist Richard Amberg. 500 copies of IN THE HEARTS OF MEN were produced, and it proved so popular a sequel film was created entitled SUMMER OF DECISION. The film cites many different men including George Washington. . director J. Edgar Hoover, who was honored in 1965 with the Grand Cross of the Court of Honor, is also mentioned.
