ARTEFIERA 2024 50TH ANNIVERSARY + CATTELAN “BECAUSE“ REVEAL

Arte Fiera - International Contemporary Art Fair is a fair for modern and contemporary art held annually in January in Bologna. Inaugurated in 1974, it is chronologically preceded only by Art Basel and Art Cologne. Over the years, it has become one of the most important events in the international art scene. The modern and contemporary art fair celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024 making it the longest-running fair in Italy. This year’s edition counted over 50,000 visitors, 196 participating galleries, 11 awards and acquisitions, a main section, three curated and invitational sections, four days of intense exchanges and meetings among gallery owners, artists, collectors, and various figures in the art system. The fair also featured the much anticipated project titled BECAUSE by superstar artist Maurizio Cattelan.
