Various shots of the American troops or ’doughboys’ in training. They march around a parade ground, watched by some pretty Irish nurses. One soldier already has a white patch over his eye. The men march through a muddy stream, run across a field with bayonets, put their gas masks on in seconds and have them checked, then march along wearing their gas masks.
