Vernal Equinox 2016 - First day of Spring

Google celebrates the first day of spring 2016 with a nice doodle. Spring equinox (vernal equinox) is the day when the sun crosses the equator from south to north. It’s the day - on the northern hemisphere - in which the durations of light and darkness are equal. Since today the days get longer. More sun, it’s getting warmer. Summer ist coming.
