The new Government shows just how little it values or cares for the older generation by ending the Universal Winter Fuel Payment, that so many pensioners rely on to keep them out of fuel poverty. It appears this was originally a Tory proposal, but obviously it was too good for the new Government to put it in the garbage where it belongs.
