How increasing diversity and inclusion in professions can lead to undesirable consequences

There is currently a drive to increase the number of ethnic minorities in all sorts of places, ranging from governed departments to supermarkets and banks. Professions such as medicine and the law are especially trying to increase recruitment of non-white staff. BT, for instance, have said that they want 25% of their staff to be non-white. This kind of thing has a downside, which is obvious to most ordinary people.
