Chariot Racing Aka Chariot Games (1960)

M/Ss of a Roman bust with golden hair, beard and toga; carved stone panel showing Roman figures (both shots from CP 290 - Roman Room); cut to a man wearing a shirt in a field with a wreath on his head having a Roman metal breastplate put on him. We see other men and women getting into Roman costumes as the commentator says “At a holiday camp in Filey, Yorkshire, the accent is not on authenticity but on fun“. A crowd of people watch as the men drag the chariots to the starting line, and the women, all in pink togas with gold breastplates underneath, climb onto the chariots there. M/S of one pair of women on a chariot as the the two men waggle it about to try and make them fall off; M/S of spectators looking on and laughing - it looks quite cold; most people wear coats and jackets.
