The voice of “Owl Jolson“ was Tommy Bond, known better at the time as the on-screen actor who played “Butch“ in Hal Roach’s “Our Gang“ series. His overbearing, classical music-loving, jazz-hating “Papa“ was Billy Bletcher, who did a number of voices for various studios over the years, most notably Peg Leg Pete and the Big Bad Wolf for Disney, and Chuck Jones’ Papa Bear for Warner Bros..
