Dance your PhD 2017 - Purple Brain: Optically disrupting the rewarding properties of nicotine
Hey I am Romain Durand-de Cuttoli, a PhD Student in Faure and Mourot’s lab at Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, France.
In this experimental dance video I (try to) present my PhD project focusing on the implementation of a novel strategy to control a receptor for nicotine directly into the brain. The idea is to slightly modify the receptor to anchor a chemical photoswitch. The purple light will then block the binding of the nicotine on the receptor and the green light will allow its functionality
