The emotions of a smell. The emotions of the skin. The emotions of the senses. Giambattista Valli’s will for Spring-Summer 2023 is to translate his emotions into a flow of beauty, of moments and gestures interpreted through a silhouette, textures and a chromatic scale. Sensorial spheres melt into each other to create a synaesthetic flux of effortless and touching visions. It is so that colours can be smelled and array of mousselines in the hues of “peaux d’ange”, “apricot”, “mango”, “marigold“ and “peony” are masterfully draped on the body as if brought by a gush of wind. The sense of touch is stimulated by the richness of textures; “treillage” macramés, in gold or matte, are also touches by “coquelicot” flowers. “Miniature” brocades, “ramage” embroideries, shiny fil- coupés and a lineup of idyllic flower prints, make the eye and the mind travel to an orientalist “jardin imaginaire”, wherever it may be. ’s will has always been to create harmony between opposites and this season is no less; sky-high golden glitter platforms sparkle to the eye the same way bejewelled flat sandals do. The newly created “AirBag” bag, a soft and cuddly leather purse, completes the silhouette just as well as another novelty, a golden metal “Vienna straw” “FloFlo Case”. The lightness of fabrics is held together by graphic and acute golden braids. It is all about a research of peace and tranquillity. Of beauty.
