Mark Soskin’s exceptional arrangement of Monk’s Bemsha Swing is a fantastic showcase for the creative and funky playing of bassist Baron Browne (March 5, 1960-September 2, 2021). Baron and I support strong solos from both Mark on Fender Rhodes and Vinny Valentino on guitar. This live performance from The Iridium Jazz Club NYC on October 28, 2011 finishes with some heated trading between Vinny and alto saxophonist Andy Fusco (January 31, 1948-April 5, 2021).
