Captain G H Gilbey stands on top of the Aintree grandstand and describes the race (starts mute).
Shots of the large crowds at the course. The jockeys mount their horses and are lead out onto the course. The horses are named in voiceover.
The horses line up at the start of the race. There is a false start and the horses are called back. They get away cleanly at the second time. Various shots of the famous race. Including some slow motion shots of horses leaping over fences. (Sound track runs out halfway through then comes back). They come in to the finish.
The winning horse is lead into the Winner’s Enclosure. The jockey, Dudley Williams dismounts. The trainer Ivor Anthony is there as well.
