Old time sabre fencing according to Montag - German 19th cent. saber
This class by Georg Britzkow was given at the historical fencing gathering “Neujahrsfechten“ at @GW-Holten and it was about the sabre or Haurappier of Bernhard Ignaz Montag from 1882.
Georg has talked about this system in an episode of “Cooler then Hutton“ on @russmitchellmovement channel. Now you will see how the movements will look like.
Montag uses several volts (Volten) and non linear footwork for attack and defense.
The class focuses on ripostes after a high cut, if you need a more basic introduction have a look at his first class on the event also on this Channel:
If you are interested in learning this style; after learning the Hau= Stoßfechten / cut and thrust fencing after F.C. Christmann at Anno 1838 in Hamburg he joined Hammaborg and teach Montags Neue Fechtschule on a regular base.
