Pink Martini - Kikuchiyo to mohshimasu | Live from Portland - 2005

Excerpted from Pink Martini’s concert DVD release “Discover the World,“ this performance was filmed live in concert at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland Oregon on December 31, 2005, featuring vocalists Timothy Nishimoto and China Forbes, with Masumi Timson on the koto. Pink Martini’s version of “Kikuchiyo to mohshimasu“ was originally heard on the band’s second album, Hang on Little Tomato. The song was written in Japanese and the original version was released by the great Hiroshi Wada & Mahina Stars as a single in Japan in 1964. Oregon-based koto player Masumi Timson has performed this song with Pink Martini at important venues worldwide, including the Hollywood Bowl. The song also features Dan Faehnle on guitar.
