Reel 4. Royal World Tour 1927. Future King George VI and Queen Elizabeth are seen off by the Prince of Wales (Prince Edward), the Duke of Gloucester (Prince Henry) and Prince George (Duke of Kent). They join the HMS Renown at Portsmouth. We see them embark. Royal voyagers greet the crew. Large crowd waves as the Renown - escorted by a destroyer - leaves the port. Atlantic entrance to the Panama Canal. Royal passengers are greeted by the American authorities and crowds. Renown negotiates a series of locks. The royal couple arrive in Wellington, New Zealand. C/U of the couple in an open topped car. Thousands of children make the shape of the English flag. Duke and Duchess visit Rotorua. They are made chieftains of a Maori tribe. They watch some Maori traditional dancing. Statue of King George V is unveiled in Auckland. Renown carries them to Sydney harbour. Many boats accompany them. Greeted by Australian dignitaries.
