The Turkish nation is purely democratic. If this reality, until now, has not been fully understood by the civilized world; our esteemed agents have expressed this point very well by signalling the last-cycle (ending) of the Ottoman Empire. On the other hand, the thing that the American nation relies upon is based and claimed around democracy. Americans, with this bestowal [from their forefathers], have established a distinguished presence in the civilized world. They have formed a great nation of unity. Here, it is this point that the people of Turkey feel a deep and powerful fondness for the people of America. I hope, in this observation, the existing conversations between the two nations will take root. And it won’t only stop there; maybe, all humanity will learn to love each other and prevent all impeding obstacles getting in the way of this mutual love, by erasing past superstitions to help bring the world into a sphere of peace and tranquillity.
