One of the Alcazar’s most important buildings from the early Middle Ages presents the setting for this composition: the Palace of King Don Pedro I, known variously as Peter the Cruel or Peter the Just. His construction became an outstanding example of Mudejar art and architecture, a fusion of Moorish and Christian influences with a dominant delight in Arabic designs.
