Protesters demand strong military action against militants in DRC
Protesters in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo are urging the army to intensify its fight against militant groups. Locals are outraged by the international community’s silence over ongoing violence and have condemned the West for allegedly backing neighboring Rwanda, which they claim supports insurgents. Mathe Saanane, one of the protest organizers, expressed locals’ dismay at the West’s indifference despite its involvement in ceasefire talks.
