Baikal-Amur Mainline celebrates 50 years anniversary

Spanning more than 4,000 kilometers, Russia’s vast Baikal-Amur mainline railway, also known as BAM, is marking its 50th anniversary. Built in the Soviet Era, and still expanding today, it’s set to become the main trade highway for Eastern Siberia. RT’s Egor Piskunov heard from locals about why it’s so important to the region.
