Елабуга / Yelabuga in the 1900s

Дореволюционная Россия на фотографиях Елабуга Russia in pre-revolutionary photographs Yelabuga Yelabuga is a town in the present-day Republic of Tartarstan, located on the right bank of the Kama River, some 200 km (210 m.) from Kazan. The town is able to trace its history back to the 10th century AD, when a Volga Bulgarian border castle was built in 985. The castle was later abandoned and only a small tower still remains.
