High School Students in New Mexico Make Urns for Veterans’ Unclaimed Ashes
High school students in New Mexico are making urns for the unclaimed ashes of U.S. military veterans. Their woodshop teacher, Gino Perez, is a Navy veteran himself. He told that he wanted his students to know that “just by one simple little bit of love, you can make a large difference.“ In a poignant twist, one of the students got to make an urn for the ashes of his own father, a military veteran.
