“Ashé“ - Aaron Parks Timbuktu Session

In November 2022, during a short but memorable stay in Lisbon, some friends of mine helped me to throw together an impromptu solo piano performance at a wonderful recording studio called Timbuktu. We ended up with a small audience gathered around the piano and a video crew to document it. It was a bit of a chaotic period for me in my personal life, but there were some moments we captured that evening which felt worth sharing. This is one of them: the first piece that I played that night, a prayer of sorts that I wrote for Terence Blanchard’s band (recorded on his album “A Tale of God’s Will“).
