National anthem of the Russian Empire — “Let the Thunder of Victory Rumble!“ (1791—1816)

English: “Let the Thunder of Victory Rumble!“ - was an unofficial Russian national anthem in the late 18th and early 19th century. The lyrics were written by the premier Russian poet of the time, Gavrila Derzhavin, and the music by composer Osip Kozlovsky, in 1791. The song was written to commemorate the capture of major Ottoman fortress Izmail by the great Russian general Aleksandr Suvorov. This event effectively ended the Seventh Russo-Turkish War. This anthem was eventually replaced by a formal imperial anthem, “The Prayer of Russians“, which was adopted in 1816. Русский: «Гром победы, раздавайся!» — неофициальный русский национальный гимн конца XVIII — начала XIX столетия. Гимн создан в 1791 году Гавриилом Державиным и Осипом Козловским на мотив полонеза. Поводом к созданию гимна явилось взятие русскими войсками под командованием А. В. Суворова османской крепости Измаил в ходе Русско-турецкой войны 1787—1791 гг. Впервые исполнен 28 апреля (9 мая) 1791 год в Таврическом дворце на грандиозном празднике, заданном Г. А. Потёмкиным для императрицы. Впоследствии был заменён официальным гимном «Молитва русских» 1816.
