Sell your car for free with Carwow: The all-new BMW M5 has finally been unveiled! BMW has been teasing it for several months, but we’ve finally got our hands on the finished product! So what’s changed compared to the previous edition? On the outside, there are many changes over the previous edition as well as the standard 5 Series. For starters, it’s wider and also comes with a bespoke sculpted bonnet. There’s a light-up grille, with some vents built into it, and there’s also a huge, aggressive-looking bumper that’s packed full of huge air intakes. Along the side, you can see the car is lower, while around the back there’s a boot lip spoiler, a huge diffuser, and a set of large quad exhaust pipes. Step inside and the M5 is a seriously impressive place to be. There’s an M steering where, coupled with smatterings of M treatments, whether it be logos, red icons and a starter button, as well as M stripes on the seat belts. There’s a set of sports seats coated with Marino leather, and there’s an updated infotainment system right in the centre of the dash. Then we come to what’s hiding under the bonnet. When it comes to petrol-power you’ll find the same twin-turbo V8 as in the XM, while there’s also an electric motor. Combined, they produce a glorious 727hp and 1,000Nm! These work together to propel the new M5 to 62mph in 3.5 seconds. However, there’s a small issue - that’s 0.2 seconds slower than the previous car! The reason? The hybrid system and other additions mean this car comes in at 2,435kg - 500kg heavier than the previous M5! So what do you think - does the massive weight change ruin this new M5 for you? Or does it still remain the world’s best super saloon? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
