The Sean Connery, Steve McQueen and Ken Miles Mojito Spot | Mesón El Monasterio, Tenerife

After getting a fantastic tip off from Andy, a viewer of the channel, that he once saw Steve McQueen, Sean Connery and Ken Miles binge drinking Mojitos on the lawn of Meson el Monasterio in the 1960s, we had to see if we could find the exact spot! And when we arrived, we were absolutely amazed that we’d never heard of this location, let alone considered it before. The location is in Los Realejos in the north of the island- not far from the much better known Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava. It’s an old monastery with tropical gardens, peacocks and chickens happily walking around freely, a number of restaurants and coffee shops and a couple of chapels- all set in buildings dating from 1645-1788. The buildings are some of the most beautiful I’ve seen on the island and the views, superb!
