LIVE: EP discusses Russia relations after Borrell’s visit to country and expulsion of diplomats

The European Parliament is holding a plenary session in Brussels on Tuesday, February 9 to discuss the relationship with Russia. The session follows the visit of High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell to the country and the recent crackdown on protestors and the opposition. The session comes a day after Germany, Poland, and Sweden expelled Russian diplomats in response to a similar move by Moscow last week. Moscow considers the expulsion unjustified, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry. Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry expelled three EU diplomats for taking part in ’unauthorised rallies’ in support of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny.
