“What is Apoptosis?“ The Apoptotic Pathways and the Caspase Cascade
This 3D medical animation explains the functioning of the extrinsic and intrinsic apoptotic pathways. We start off by taking a look at the important role apoptosis plays in growth and development as well as removing DNA damaged cells. Then we see how activation of the caspase cascade occurs in each external and internal signalling pathway. Lastly we get a glimpse of cancer cells and their ability to block apoptosis.
