Miss Dolly Comes To Town (1937)

Titles read: “MISS DOLLY COMES TO TOWN“. Merton, county unknown. Various shots at a toy factory show parts for a doll being cut out, sewn and stuffed by women factory workers. The heads are made by pouring plaster into a mould, and the eyes are attached by hand. Other women paint the features on doll face; a woman puts some rouge on a doll with a small cloth, then takes out her compact mirror and uses the same cloth to put rouge on her own cheeks! Then hair is sprayed onto the head. A woman adjusts a hat on a large lifelike doll with blonde plaits and carries this doll and some other toys - a Donald Duck and a Mickey and Minnie Mouse - through the factory. Other women add the finishing touches to similar toys. FILM ID:1160.2 A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
