Deputy speaker tells MPs ’you can’t get excited yet’ as Hunt jeered at start of Budget

Jeremy Hunt says the government can now help families not just with temporary cost of living support but with permanent cuts in taxation. We do this to give much needed help in challenging times, he says – and because “lower taxes mean higher growth”, which means “more funding for our precious public services”.
