Just a quick visualization via a chart race showing the US sales for auto manufacturers from 1976 to 2022! A few notes about this: This only includes the biggest names and those I can actually find data for! I tried to include AMC but could not find continuous, verified sales data for them (or even market share) Many sales (especially in earlier years) interpolated from market share. No, this doesn’t representative all brands - many brands such as Fiat and Peugeot I could not find yearly sales data on. Did not try to break AMC Chrysler Fiat and Stellantis apart.
