A short video about Texas Star Hibiscus (Hibiscus coccineus) -- Despite it’s name, it’s not a Texas Native, though it is native to North America. A vigorous perennial that produces large, star-shaped, bright red flowers that bloom late spring into fall. (There’s also a white blooming variety.) It’s a deciduous perennial that grows 4-6 feet tall x 3-4 feet wide on average, but can get larger. Plant in full sun or part sun. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.
