Though the familiar 1925 Jacob Gade tango (aka “Tango tzigane”) had previously been recorded by others, it was Fiedler’s famous version which eventually became one of the all-time best-selling Victor Red Seal releases. This “Jalousie” track had been recorded back in mid-1935 but remained unissued until 1938, paired on the flip side with a 1937 waxing of de Falla’s “Ritual Fire Dance.”
CD audio, originally issued on 12-inch 78rpm: Victor Red Seal 12160 - Jalousie (Jealousy) (Gade) by Boston “Pops” Orchestra, conducted by Arthur Fiedler, recorded in Symphony Hall, Boston on July 1, 1935
