Moldovan President-elect Maia Sandu addressed the protesters, urging the acting government to stop the ’madness’ and ’to start the mechanism of snap parliamentary elections.’ Demonstrators could be seen holding banners and chanting slogans. Moldovan Prime Minister Ion Chicu called on political opponents to cancel demonstrations due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
