How human fingers and toes develop

This video shows gene expression patterns in human embryonic tissues as digits begin to form between 5 and 6 weeks of development. IRX1, labelled in blue, is a gene crucial for digit formation, and SOX9, labelled in purple, is a gene essential for skeletal development.
