Hazel And Day (1933)

Note: Probably filmed in the Pathe studio. The item is introduced by the comedian Ronald Frankau. M/S’s of the comedian Rupert Hazel wearing a shabby suit and funny hat (He looks rather like a clown). He explains why he is feeling a little bit hoarse. He then goes onto tell a joke about his wife who he claims was lying. Apparently his wife had told him that she had been out to the pictures with the girl next door. However, Hazel explains “that’s where I’d been.“ Several shots of Elsie Day wearing a very glamorous gown singing the Aberdeen national anthem ’Drink to me only with thine eyes.’ Rupert Hazel provides accompaniment on a strange stringed instrument which has a brass end attached to it (it sounds a bit like a cello).
