Shenyang - Prometheus by Wolf (CSOTW, 16th June 2007)

Shenyang (沈洋) performing “Prometheus“ by Hugo Wolf during the Rosenblatt Recital Song Prize Final in 2007. The Chinese bass-baritone went on to win the Main Prize that year. Following his participation in the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, he debuted at the Met in the role of Masetto (Don Giovanni) in 2009. Since then, he has performed at renowned opera houses worldwide, including Bayerische Staatsoper, Opernhaus Zürich and Washington National Opera, as well as the BBC Proms and Glyndebourne Festival - recently shifting more into dramatic repertoire. He is equally sought after as a concert singer, with recent highlights including Berlioz’s Romeo et Juliette and Brahm’s Ein deutsches Requiem, among many others.
