Donna Summer ~ Need A Man Blues 1975 Disco Purrfection Version

I went all the way back to Donna’s first successful LP “Love To Love You Baby“ and while I am remixing the title tune, “Need-A-Man Blues“ jumped out at me. I started working on it in 2016 and finally finished it today. This is a side of the underground Donna, a deep cut that was the B side of her first US pop/disco hit “Love To Love You Baby“. It has that wah wah guitar thing going and a sexy synthesizer patterns punctuated by a very organ sounding synth along with a pumping bassline with Donna doing her best Marilyn Monroe sounding like she really needs man. I just thought it would be fun to do this one since its off the beaten hit track of Donna’s. It kinda reminds me of “I’m A Man“ by Macho, who used a similar synth line. This is eurodisco, it was recorded in Germany. It’s all synths, no strings at all and the clarity of each one is stunning.
