Although little more than an earth bank these days, the Wall here is still very important to the local community. Yang Xin is a legislative liaison officer in Lintao who is currently gathering feedback on a draft amendment to the Law on the Protection of Cultural Relics. Among those he has talked to is Zhao Qinghua, a local Chinese language teacher. Zhao grew up near the Great Wall and is passionate about protecting it.
