WW2 Color Footage Panzerjäger I - 4, 7 cm PaK (t).

The Panzerjäger I was the first of the German tank destroyers to see service in WW2. It mounted a Czech Škoda 4.7 cm PaK (t) anti-tank gun on a converted Panzer I Ausf. B chassis and was produced from 1940 until 1941 and only 201 were made. It was a effective weapon and it will usually hit its target with the first shot at ranges up to 1,000 metres, but it had a high superstructure which made it easy to spot and a small gun shield that gave almost no protection for the crew. The Panzerjager I 35R were made from converted captured R35 by Alkett between May to October 1941, there weren’t as successful as the Panzerjäger I, mainly due to the slow speed of the R 35 and the overloaded chassis, but there were still used in France in the Battle of Normandy and in Arnhem, when the original PanzerJager I was already discontinued. ■ So want to help keep me and the channel going, maybe by beer or coffee?
