🔥 Why Linear Drumming Matters 🔥
Linear drumming allows you to play complex patterns at blazing speeds by eliminating stacked notes between your limbs. Imagine the difference between playing with both hands simultaneously versus alternating between them seamlessly. We’re about to unlock that level of fluidity for all four of your limbs!
💡 The Groove Breakdown 💡
Today’s groove may be only 16 notes long, but don’t let that fool you. It’s packed with dynamic potential and can be broken down into two easily digestible groups of 8. If you’re looking for a cool, accessible couple of patterns to add to your groove and fill repertoire, you’re in the right place.
🎶 Patterns in Focus 🎶
Pattern 1: Inspired by Mike Johnston, we’ll explore KRLHi Hat Foot, RLRL
Pattern 2: Dennis Chambers-esque RllRllRl. This captivating sequence creates the illusion of a constant roll with your left hand while your right hand explores the kit. Killer pattern..
🚀 Orchestration Adventures 🚀
We’ll explore different orchestrations to add depth and character to the patterns and groove. Please explore on this! There is plenty more to uncover!
⏱️ Mastery ⏱️
Remember, it’s not just about speed—it’s about precision and control. Take your time and focus on nailing each pattern with finesse.
🎯 Pro Tips for Peak Performance 🎯
Tighten those snare wires and crank that bottom snare head for maximum sensitivity. And don’t be afraid to experiment with ghost notes at the edge of the snare—it adds a unique flavour to your groove and I know this is about taste(!), but I love the sound as you’ll see in the lesson..
