Beijing has ordered a 5-year study to investigate the possibility of building world’s largest spacecraft. China intends to build a kilometer-long spacecraft, making it one of the most ambitious projects in human history. National Science Foundation of China, an agency managed by the country’s Ministry of Science and Technology is funding the study.
