Queen of the Damned was one of my very favorite movies even before I bellydanced. I had always wanted to recreate Akasha’s costume, and once the bellydance bug hit me and I started understanding the bits and pieces of her costume (pretty much all the metal parts are kuchi or turkomen pieces commonly used in other tribal fusion type costumes), I knew I had to not only make it a reality, but bring it to life on stage.
