Birth Control - A New German Rock Group 1970 (Germany, Krautrock, Heavy Prog) Full Lp
Birth Control is a heavy prog band from West Berlin, formed in 1968. The somewhat provocative name of the group was borrowed from Pop Paul (Pope Paul VI), who quite strongly opposed the legalization of abortion. At the beginning of its activity, the band performed various jazz-rock covers by Julia Driscoll, Brian Auger, Graham Bond and others. The debut album Birth Control (1970) was released on Metronome Records and consisted of his own works. The record was stuffed mainly with jazz-rock numbers, but there were also hard rock moments. In general, the work was of average quality, and also suffered from poor production. The disc came out in an envelope that imitated a box of contraceptive pills. Also in different editions the album was called A New German Rock Group (USA, 1970), Gold Rock (1973 and 1978), Knock! Knock!/Who’s There? (1973) and came out with different covers.
